The Stableyard Flooring Collection FAQs

The Stableyard Collection is our range of premium engineered wood flooring available in a variety of styles and finishes to suit any property. Whether you live in a country cottage, period townhouse, modern apartment or new build house, it’s the perfect long-term investment for your Sussex home.

Stableyard flooring has the same advantages and considerations as all engineered wood flooring. It offers the premium look and feel of real wood flooring, but in a more affordable and easier-to-install package. It also provides excellent longevity compared to laminate and some vinyl options, without the warping or shrinking of real wood.

However, it’s not waterproof, so it’s not suitable for bathrooms or kitchens, or any room with high humidity and large temperature changes. It can also be prone to scratches, dings or dents, so might not be suitable for homes with pets or young children.

Real wood (sometimes called hardwood) flooring consists of thick, solid planks that are attached directly to your subfloor. It’s thick, heavy and can last for decades, if not centuries, but it can also warp over time.

However, the Stableyard Collection is engineered wood flooring featuring a layer of real wood that’s bonded to a multi-layered core. It’s installed by clicking planks together, like laminate or LVT. This makes it more affordable, versatile and less likely to warp with temperature or humidity changes.
